Length: At least two pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, one-inch margins (no more than three pages)

Guidelines: You will begin research on the important contextual features of your artifact(s). During our first course content day, after analyzing Modern Times, we discussed four parts of rhetorical criticism: 1) Identify characteristics (i.e., a close reading of the details of your artifact’s communication strategies); 2) Examine the artifact in relation to its context(s); 3) Decide on a suitable method; and 4) Evaluate the artifact via the method’s procedures. This assignment has you focus on Step 2: Researching what is important and influential about your artifact(s)’s contexts.
