I do think you need to be much more specific.
1. “The assignment will focus on the mental health models and policies that have impact on the care for the indigenous people”… Which specific policy are you recommending for improvement/change? In a 500 word assignment you will not be able to argue for all policies affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians to change
1. “Describe the elements of Australian mental health system that have impact on the indigenous mental well-being” – this won’t necessarily need its own section, as you should be describing this element when you discuss your specific policy or component of the mental health system which requires change.
1. “Provide rationale why the particular areas require reforms while provide evidence-based data” – yes, this is vital. Just make sure it is one specific area, rather than various areas
1. “Make recommendations that will address the needs of the indigenous people such as issue of culturally appropriate care and ways to address historical trauma” … as you saw in my earlier suggestion, this is too broad and will take more than 500 words to argue. Be really specific in identifying what change you are recommending and which specific policy or legislative framework underpins this

“Argue for a reform to the Australian Mental Health System”
This assessment task provides you with an opportunity to reflect upon any aspect of the Australian Mental Health System and recommend a reform which will improve the health and wellbeing of people with or at risk of mental health problems. You may imagine you are on the hustings, addressing policy makers and attempting to spruik / sell your idea.
The assessment item has been designed to encourage you to develop a well-supported argument.
Learning outcomes
This assessment task is aligned with the following learning outcomes:
1. Analyse and critique the dominant discourses and models of mental health and illness and how these and other formative influences have shaped mental health policy, legislation, professional standards, influenced mental health practice and the experience of care
Assessment details
In 500 words (or less) describe and reference a component of the mental health system which requires improvement and the relevant policy or legislative framework which underpins this component (State, Federal or Professional).
Outline what needs to improve and why. Provide a recommendation to policy and describe the anticipated improvement in outcomes should the reform be implemented.
One may focus on particular at risk or vulnerable groups e.g., Indigenous people, refugees, youth, prisoners, disaster victims; Particular types of services e.g. inpatient treatment, community mental health, primary care, school-based services; Or responses to particular issues e.g., methamphetamine use, youth in custody, social distancing etc.
