CM Week 12 Discussion

What is the best way to deal with someone who responds in a hostile manner toward you? Should you try to respond cooperatively, or should you "fight fire with fire?" 

Also, since we are discussing "the best way to deal hostility",  What are your most commonly used approaches to handling conflict when someone responds to you in a hostile manner (or try to start conflict)?  What can you do to expand your repertoire and be more effective at conflict management?
