 Discuss the legislation of this time period in relation to the expansion of Civil Rights.  Provide some examples of how legislation was inspired by events that occurred and the movements of this period.

Explain how the Supreme Court interpreted civil rights and liberties during this time period using at least three cases. Provide case examples that include background and details of their decision. What other cases are related to these decisions? Did any of these decisions overrule another case? Did any of the decisions establish or utilize a specific judicial test?
