Child Play Observation Assignment

Observe a child (or children), in play (playing), for at least one hour in a public setting (playground, classroom, store, library, place of worship, mall, bank, etc). Do not direct, intervene, or participate in the play.  

3-4 pages summary in APA format that includes the following subtitles: observation overview (i.e., location, date/time, child description(s), what occurred), developmental observations (Piaget’s cognitive, Erikson’s psychosocial, Freud’s psychosexual, Kohlberg’s moral), observer’s reactions (i.e., feelings,
thoughts, behaviors, learning), and conclusion.
