1.) Calculate the pH of each of the H+ standards and fill in the chart below. Prepare a graph of the pH of each standard versus the electrical potential including R2 and a line of best fit (it may not be linear). What can you conclude about the relationship between the two from this graph? Ie how much does the potential change as the pH changes?  
 

2.)The pH reference range for whole blood is between 7.35 – 7.45. What are the equivalent H+ concentrations in molarity for this range? What can you conclude about the variation of blood pH from this?
 

3.)Using the graphs you prepared, determine the electrical potential that would be measured for the lower and upper limits of a normal blood pH. How much of a difference in potential is there between these values? Based on this, what can you conclude about the sensitivity of blood pH and electrolyte instruments?
