Write a five paragraph essay about the death penalty in your selected country (Jamaica or Brazil). Here are some possible topical areas to begin the discussion and more of your own:

BASIC QUESTIONS:  Does your selected country (either Jamaica or Brazil) still have the death penalty?

IF NOT:

     •when was it abolished & why?

     •who led the effort for abolition?

     •are there any popular surveys that show support 

        or opposition!

IF SO:

    •for which crime(s) is capital punishment still an 

         option?

      •when was it last used?

      •are there internal efforts to abolish the death 

         penalty?

       •are there any popular surveys that support or 

           opposition?

ASSIGNMENT PARAMETERS:

• 6-page minimum length (1500-1700 words)

•Use APA style, including a title page & reference page (which do not include the 5-page minimum length), and cite all sources.
