Weeks 10-11 Overview

Integrated Thematic Unit Design Continuation

In this module, you will be provided with some additional resources related to planning

instructional units.

For this module, please:

Review provided in the module examples of units to give you further ideas how your

peers from previous semester approached using the UbD framework to design their

instructional units. Typically, one content area is the lead content and other content

area(s) serves as the supportive content for the unit (that is, referred to as interdisciplinary

connections).

Another resource is shared previously with you the Georgia Department of Education Inspire

website. The resources in Inspire website that are available on to the listed tab below, will

provide you with examples of curricula maps and instructional units referred there as the courses

for most of the content areas.

You may find them useful for generating ideas for your own units. If you do so, make sure that

you cite the sources correctly using the APA style.

As soon as you receive my feedback on your submission of the Stages 1-2 of your Integrated

Thematic Unit, start working on your Stage 3- Planning Appropriate Learning Experiences

and Instruction. You must refer to Instructions for Integrated Thematic Unit Design

provided in Weeks 8-9 module Integrated Thematic Unit Design assignment to make sure

that you will not miss any requirements. Remember to work with your mentor -teacher or

curricula/ coach/ team as a resource to help you with your unit design.

Due 11/3: Integrated Thematic Unit Design Stage 3: Planning Appropriate Learning

Experiences and Instruction Submit it into the corresponding assignment box located in the

Weeks 8-9 module Integrated Thematic Unit Design assignment.
