CASE MANAGEMENT FOR GERONTOLOGY
As we have discussed previously, the U.S. healthcare system is very complex and dynamic. As such, there are always changes taking place and challenges to be addressed by healthcare organizations and their leaders. Healthcare administrators must possess a variety of skills to carry out an organization’s mission and deliver needed services to the communities they serve. Some of the skills necessary involve those needed to oversee the day to day operations of the organization and facility and others are those used to identify challenges or shortcomings, identify relevant factors, and develop strategies and actions to address the challenges faced. All of these responsibilities and activities come into play in gerontology and you identified some important processes and issues facing this area of healthcare in your post.
Considering the aspects of researching and developing strategies, what areas do you think our current healthcare administrators struggle with the most? How can we better prepare these individuals to be able to effectively carryout their responsibilities to the organizations and patients they serve?
