On a separate Word document, complete the following 5 steps:

1. Identify your desired dream job or career goal and list the requirements (experience, education, knowledge, skills, etc.) required for that position.
2. Identify an entry-level position on the pathway to that dream job and list the requirements (experience, education, knowledge, skills, etc.) needed to obtain this entry-level position. You may wish to refer back to the My Next Move assignment in Module 2.
3. Identify at least two intermediate jobs between the entry-level position and dream job that are logical transitions. List the requirements (experience, education, knowledge, skills, etc.) needed for each intermediate position. Remember that lateral moves that are not promotions can provide opportunities for needed experience and skills.
4. Identify any additional training, education or credentials you will need for each intermediate position beyond what was needed for the entry-level position and how you will obtain the training, education or credentials. Remember to consider professional organizations and hobbies as ways to increase skills.
5. Estimate how long you will need to remain at each job and draw a time line that plots the dates (years) you will move to each position. Remember to consider things such as family situations when estimating how long it will take to move to the next level. For example, having small children at home or caring for elderly parents may make it difficult to complete additional education and training in a certain time frame. Also, consider whether relocation will be necessary to move to the next level of the plan.
