Student affairs administration can encompass a wide variety of organizations and services in college and universities. However, there are key elements of student affairs that should be considered to ensure best practices.

Read the article found in Trident’s library. 

O’Brien, J. (2018). Exploring Intersections Among the ACPA/NASPA Professional Competencies.  Journal of College Student Development, 59, 3 1-18. 

Among the competencies listed on p. 280, identify which three of those competencies are most important to the role in your opinion. 

In a 3- to 4-page paper, explain your rationale for the top three competencies that you value. Support your writing with at least three other current citations.  

Follow APA format with a cover page and reference pages.

Citing Sources: Demonstrates mastery applying APA formatting standards to both in-text citations and the reference list.

Professionalism and Timeliness: Demonstrates excellence in taking responsibility for learning by adhering to course requirement policies and expectations. Assignment submitted on time or student collaborated with professor for an approved extension on due date.
