Buy vs build

Thus far, we have been learning about building from scratch.  Sometimes, it is more cost-effective to buy an existing solution and  customize or adapt it to fit your or your client’s business. Please  respond to the following:

• What considerations would lead you to recommend a custom-built solution?   
• When would an existing solution make more sense?   
• What concerns apply when you buy a solution that you would not have to worry about it you were custom-building?
