If all the departments and functional areas in the organization complete their objectives, the overall strategies will be successfully implemented. It may help to look at a real-life example of such an action plan.

Imagine a large physician group practice that has decided to acquire and deploy a multi-featured EMR system that will be linked to the local hospitals where the physicians have privileges and send their patients. The action plan to carry out that decision might look like TABLE 9-1.

Action Plan Objectives:

1. Consult with EMR system vendors about critical specifications, available options, and related costs.
