Sam, a jeweler offers to sell Mary a diamond watch for $1000.  Mary is unsure and needs time to think about it. Sam tells Mary hat he will leave the offer open until Friday.  He writes on a post-it, "I Sam the jeweler offer to sell a diamond watch to Mary for $1000.  Good until Friday." On Thursday Sam calls Mary and revokes the offer. Mary can still get the watch for $1000.
