The doctrine of equity as it applies to the law in the US refers to "a set of maxims based on fairness, equality, moral rights and natural law that are applied when settling disputes." (Cheeseman, P 196.)  Read the ethics case 10.5 on page 211 of your textbook concerning the design of a logo for the Power Rangers and write an original 250 word post discussing the following questions:

1. Should the doctrine of equity be applied in this case to save Dees from a contract that paid him a very small percentage of what his work was worth or should he (Dees) be bound by his original contract?

2. Does Saban owe an ethical duty to pay Dees more money regardless of their contract, now that the Power Rangers is such a successful brand?

Write an original 250+ word post by Wednesday of the week the discussion is due.  In your post mention the article you have read at least twice and give your opinion on the issue in a clear and understandable manner. Always discuss any ethical issues that are involved. Cite any other sources you use when writing your post at the end of your submission.  After writing your own post, reply to the posts of two other students before the discussion board due date.  Replies should be at least 150 words long and ask questions or otherwise encourage discussion.  Replies that simply compliment or disagree with the post will not be accepted for credit.
