Learning Plan: Integrating Feedback
[WLO: 3] [CLO: 2]
Prepare
In this assignment, you will continue developing your Learning Plan. Last week you created a statement of purpose. This week you will address the importance of feedback in your growth as a doctoral student.

Scholarly writing requires clear arguments, logical organization, and precise language. Feedback helps writers identify vague statements, logical gaps, or weak evidence so they can revise for stronger communication. The ability to integrate feedback is essential to scholarly writing because it strengthens both the writer’s development and the quality of the work, and actively seeking feedback ensures that your work is clear and precise, which builds credibility.

Integrating feedback also requires a growth mindset to understand that mistakes are part of learning. A growth mindset can help to reframe feedback as not yet mastered instead of I failed. Feedback is a gift! The iterative nature of doctoral-level scholarship may require multiple rounds of receiving and integrating feedback, so having self-awareness, being able to self-regulate your emotions, maintain open communication, and apply advice constructively when receiving feedback are critical aspects of emotional intelligence that support personal and professional growth.
