Instructions For this assignment, assume a specific company stalled in old methods and strategies and has a job posted seeking a visionary product management marketing leader to take the subdivision to the 21st century. Company leadership does not understand customer-centered product management, nor any other fundamentals of the role. Therefore, you must present your expertise and vision to the board of directors by selecting a well-known company as the basis for your assignment, for instance, Caterpillar, Apple, or IBM. Once you have selected a company, prepare talking points for an upcoming meeting with the board. Talking points do not have to be formatted as a standard report or paper. However, remember to use headers and review your grammar, spelling, sentence structure and provide an APA formatted reference list. Based on this module’s readings, defend your product management approach. Be sure to include the following in your talking points: · Document the Background Tasks of product management. As a product manager, there are many required tasks, and most product managers favor a particular approach: Customer-focused product manager, Engineering-focused product manager, Design-focused product manager, or Business-focused product manager. Document the various tasks you feel are relevant from each methodology as you make your own approach. · Explain the major innovative stages of product management using one of the company’s products as an example. · Identify a major competitor and then appraise their performance in product management as related to your company. · Recommend a front-end innovation to remain ahead of the competition.
