Tableau Supply Chain Volume Analysis

In the previous week you learned how to download, install and get around Tableau. Now it’s time to dig deeper into Tableau.
Once again you are going to open an Excel file to do your work.
You will need to download the file found within Canva and attached to this assignment called, Supply Chain Data NATM.xlsx

1). Select the Excel option from the Navigation Menu (Figure 1.0).
2). Double Click Computer then navigate to where you downloaded the above file.
3). Select the file Supply Chain Data NATM.xlsx
Background: In this exercise you are playing the role of an analyst working for a very large manufacturing company. A new CEO has recently been hired and you’ve been tasked to answer a series of questions from this new CEO. You job is to use the supplied data file to drill into these questions and come up with the correct answers.

1). You will now see the DataSet file (Figure 2.0) and will now be able to use this file to complete your exercises.
2). Select the Worksheet option (Sheet1) on the bottom left of the Tableau Window. You will now see the following Dimensions and Measures options based on your MS Excel dataset (Figure 3.0).

NOTE. All screen shots must include your name or initials! To accomplish this, double click on the word Sheet 1 as shown below and change it.

Exercise 1.
How many Factories do we have world-wide?
Task: Find how many factories we are dealing with. (Hint: this is simple. Use just one Dimension (Factory) and set its measure to count distinct. Show this vertically in a horizontal bar chart.

What Country has the most factories?
Task: Find the country that has the most factories.
(Hint: use a highlight table sorted most to least. Two items are needed, Factory (as in exercise 1) and Country.

What country has the most factories creating the Brand “Rocky Summit Clothing”?
Task: Find the country that has the most factories creating the Brand “Rocky Summit Clothing”
(Hint: use a packed bubbles chart with colors and label to show the country with the most). You will be using Factory as you did before, Country, and Brand (filtered for Rocky Summit Clothing)

Of all the countries, and all the factories in those countries, and of all the cities that house these factories, which city has the most factories?
Task: Find the above answer. Hint: You could use a highlight table, a tree map or even a packed bubbles chart to adequately show this. You will need Factory(cnt distinct), city, and country
