BUS 400 - week one :
In this discussion, you will introduce yourself to the class.
In your initial post, introduce yourself and address the following:
● Provide your preferred name if it is different from your name as shown in Brightspace. ● Define your professional identity by describing your current and/or past professional
roles. ● Share some of your professional goals.
In your replies, select at least two peers' posts that sparked your interest, and get a conversation started. If you need some ideas, you may ask, "Do you have any big projects or career goals in mind?" "What does your day-to-day look like?" "Any advice you can share from your lessons learned?" These are just some examples of conversation starters; you may have alternative questions that will help you connect with colleagues.
To complete this assignment, review the Discussion Rubric.
Peer 1:
Sally Navarro
Hello everyone,
My name is Saurily, but I prefer to go by Sally to make it easier. I reside in South Florida. I'm pursuing my BA in Business with a concentration in Human Resources. I have a passion for helping others. This is my last term at SNHU before graduation! I am excited and ready to see what doors will open. I have been working for my current employer for 15+ years and looking for more growth on a personal and professional level. My current position is as a Human Resource Generalist, a little of everything under the Human Resource sun. This can be from recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee recognition, etc.
As my next short-term goal, I plan to focus on taking my SHRM. This will also give me the additional fundamentals to excel in my career. As well as help me align with business strategy to create a more conducive work environment for my team.
I am looking forward to these eight weeks! Good Luck everyone-
Peer 2:
Karie Lamb
Hello Class,
My name is Karie (she/her/hers) and I am currently a T3 (or supervisor) at an Amazon
Fulfillment Center. I have been with Amazon for three years; I started as a regular Amazon
Associate or T1 and I got promoted last December. I work in the CAP department (count and
pick). All my associates know how to pick or how to do some kind of inventory (aka count). I
have over 50 associates that I supervise. Before Amazon I was a Certified Nursing Assistant.
My BS is in Business Admin concentrating in Organizational Leadership, I would like to
use my degree to move up at an Amazon. The current plan is to stay in my position where I am
for a bit though, learn a bit more before I do that. I would also like to take a Six Sigma
Certification course, as Amazon is big on Six Sigma Lean.
This is my last class, kind of excited, kind of nervous. What will I do with all my time
after eight weeks? Maybe I will see some of you in NH in a couple of weeks!

BUS 400 Module One Blog Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Raising money to invest in innovation is hard. Companies both large and small work to strike a balance between executing an existing business model and thinking ahead to advance their business. As individuals think critically
about how their business should move forward, they should rst get a 360-degree view of their environment. This journey starts with research on the current state of the business and critical thinking questions that can help
leaders drill down deeper.
Prompt
In this blog post, you will take on the role of the recently-promoted chief innovation ofcer (CIO) of an established U.S.-based company of your choosing. It is within your responsibilities to discover new ways to improve an
existing product or service in North America, oorr to introduce a new product or service to the market that will give the company a market edge over competition and t within the company’s core competencies. For the purposes
of this blog post, and for this entire course, you will do the latter.
The new product or service must be something that cannot be easily duplicated and takes into account consumers’ willingness to pay (WTP). If a consumer doesn’t have a problem or need for the product or service offered, they
will not be willing to exchange money for the solution.
The rst step of such an undertaking requires research and an examination of the selected company’s nancials and current resources. Moreover, this new product or service offering must leverage the strengths of the
company.
Using MarketLine, Yahoo Finance, and the investor relations page on the company’s website, select and research an established company of your choice. Specically, look at the company’s 10K Report with a focus on the
company’s business in North America. You will continue to research and work with this company throughout this course in the milestones and project.
In your blog post, identify the company you researched and describe its potential new and unique product or service. IInncclluuddee aann iimmaaggee ooff tthhee ccoommppaannyy’’ss ccuurrrreenntt SSWWOOTT from the Shapiro Library and address the following

What to Submit
Your blog post must be between 400 and 800 words in length and be submitted as a Word document. Your blog post should be written in a professional voice and should be appropriately formatted for a blog. Any sources cited
