Brief Proposal

students build off of their Memo to create a Brief Proposal (750 words: about two pages for double space ), detailing how they would recommend the analytics team take advantage of the opportunity they articulated in the Memo.

Details

This assignment is an opportunity for students to showcase how they have learned from the feedback they received on their Memos, and to take the next step in communicating an analytics project to an internal, technical audience. Proposals must include:

Introduction (Description/Background): prepare a cogent synthesis of the need for the proposal

Challenge/Opportunity: offer necessary details of the organization by appropriately framing the problem; include a footnote to briefly identify the organization and its mission/purpose

Rationale: explain your solution, articulating how these ideas can be applied to said particular need and why this solution will work

Cost Analysis: identify cost, resources required, and expected Return on Investment (quantitative and/or qualitative)

Assessment: describe how the project will be evaluated both immediately and over time

Conclusion: include a clear and complete call to action

Evaluation: This project will be evaluated on quality, creativity, and professionalism; clarity and organization; succinctness of purpose; clarity of value proposition; and application of course content.
