Brain Development

Extensive brain growth and development occurs in a child's early years. Create a handout that describes the brain's growth and development from ages 1 to 3 years. Include specific information that would be of value to a new parent. The handout's purpose is to create an informational piece that would be available in a pediatricians office for new parents. Include information about the structures of the brain, neurons, the lobes, "blooming and pruning", and neurotransmitters. What is the myelination and how can environment assist in this process? How does early experiences impact brain growth? What recommendations would you give to new parents?
