Brain and Language - Discussion group

Now read the section called, "Brain Damage and Language" in module 13.2 (14.2 in the 11th edition). Make sure you understand the language deficits and structural damage associated with Broca's Aphasia and Wernicke's Apashia. 

Congresswoman Gabrielle ("Gabby") Giffords was shot in the head but survived. Her story was very closely followed in the media.  She has brain damage and some difficulties with speech.

• Go online and find out an interesting fact about Gabby Gifford OR someone else who has brain sustained damage.
• Where is their brain damage and what losses in function corresponded?
• What is the relationship between ability in language and music? Does this makes sense considering what you read in the textbook? 
• Provide the link to the website where you got the information.
