Week 9 Assignment Directions and Information: This week's submission of the body (about 5-6 pages)

This week students will write a first draft of the body of their research project in proper APA format (click on the file in this week’s Content to view a sample first draft).

It is easier to write an introduction that is tailored to the main ideas in the body of your paper, therefore students will write the introduction in week 10.

Please do not include any other parts of the paper in your submission for Week 9, only the BODY pages. No other sections will be reviewed for this assignment.

This week's submission of the body (about 5-6 pages) should be double spaced, use 12 point Times New Roman font, and adhere to the following APA guidelines:

· Headers are no longer required for each page

· Page numbers

· Level 1 headings (usually corresponds to the sections from your outline).

· Proper in-text citation AND direct quotations to avoid plagiarism.

Please read ALL the textbook material, lecture notes, and view the videos PRIOR to writing the first draft. My suggestion is to bookmark and take some notes from these videos, since they will not only be useful for the paper for this class, but for many other classes you take at Monroe.

There have been several Powerpoints with information about APA formatting and documentation, added to the Monroe College Library website. Be sure to check them as they clearly provide additional support for writing your research paper.
