You are looking for America. What did you find in the Beat writers? In Joy Harjo? In the songs of blues & gospel? Place yourself in the center of these conversations. Ask the hard questions, avoid the easy answers. 

Choose one of the texts (or more but not all) to give ground and focus to the blog. 

The best blogs have:

1. an original idea or thesis, such as the censorship against Ginsberg beside the backdrop of freedom or your evaluation of women & sexuality & the Beat movement

2. a clever title to the blog itself

3. direct evidence from our readings. This aspect is essential to success.

4. direct examples from the real world, real life, your journeys looking for the meaning of America (these can be small, they work better when directly connected to author or text you have chosen).

5. At least 1200 words
