Assignment: Design your own case study (no group work)

Due Date: December 4 (by 11:59pm)—no late assignments will be accepted

Submission: “Assignments” tab Submission Folder on D2L (no printed copies accepted)

Credit Potential: Max 5 points on final course grade (which equates to 1% on a 100% scale)

Instructions:

We’ve been completing case studies all semester in class. Your assignment is to design your own case study based on a physiological system (doesn’t have to be a topic we covered in class). Your case study should be formatted in the same way our case studies have been this semester: an introductory narrative describing the situation, followed by a minimum of 5 questions based on the situation. The questions need to cover basic physiology as well as the abnormal physiology (aka pathophysiology) related to the described situation. All your questions MUST BE ANSWERED to receive maximal credit. You are allowed to use outside sources for assistance (this is not required), but you are not allowed to copy another case study. Please include any references that you use in a separate “Works Cited” page in proper scientific format.

Grading:

I will grade your case study based on originality, flow and scope of the questions, as well as the accuracy of the answers. I reserve the right to award partial credit based on the quality of the work submitted. Turnitin will be engaged on D2L—this service compares your submission to the internet and provides a percentage of the text that is directly copied from websites and other submitted papers within the Turnitin system (in KSU and other universities). Plagiarism of ANY kind will result in a 0 on the assignment; further, depending on the severity of the plagiarism, I reserve the right to deduct points from your final grade and report your offense to the university.
