Biological Theories of Aging

Identify, and then discuss in substantive detail, which theory of aging best corresponds with the following descriptions:

1. David’s doctor has just informed him that there appears to be considerable oxidative damage in his cells. This damage has produced a decay in tiny cellular bodies that provide energy that is needed for cell function, growth, and repair.

2. Saria’s doctor has evaluated her cells and found that she has a lot of unstable oxygen molecules that are bouncing around in her cells and damaging various cellular structures.

3. Jacob’s body seems to have elevated levels of stress hormones. These are the hormones that are released in response to stress.

 4. Kara has been feeling very run down lately. Her doctor has evaluated her body cells and has found that they are only capable of dividing about 68 times.
