BICYCLE THEFTS

The theft of bicycles is a substantial social problem in the U.S.  The FBI reports over 200,000 bicycle thefts each year, a number that likely severely undercounts the true scope of the problem.  Bicycles are often stolen from on-street locations where they have been left by their owners, for example, at university campuses and railway stations. Kendall District has experienced a surge in bicycle thefts, many of the bicycles stolen were taken from the “Downtown Dadeland” area, a mixed-use area that consists of a blend of retail, hospitality, residential, and commercial establishments.

You have been asked to devise a plan to address the bicycle thefts in this area.

What recommendations and or interventions would you suggest to reduce bicycle thefts?

  • Write a short essay or paragraph of at least 300 words.
  • Use concrete examples/details and avoid generalities.
  • Use proper grammar and punctuation.
  • If you researched your topic and are using information from what you learned, remember to cite your sources.
  • Do not plagiarize.
  • You will not be able to edit your assignment once you post, so please proofread and spell check before hitting post!
