We examined the concept of interdisciplinarity and what makes social science an interdisciplinary topic in Week 1. Gerontology is a highly interdisciplinary social science, as it draws on research, theories, and ideas from many different fields to better address the topic of aging. This week's material asked you to examine aging from the perspectives of the five other social sciences we have examined in this course. Choose two of the resources and answer the following questions:

· What two social science fields do the resources you chose represent? 

· What does each source add to your understanding of the issues in gerontology? How would it affect your understanding of this topic if you looked at it from one perspective?  

· What are the consequences if a social scientist has incomplete knowledge of a topic?  

Guided Response: Respond to at least two of your classmates' posts, including at least one who chose different social sciences than you did. Consider how the social sciences they chose increase your understanding of gerontology or how the social sciences you chose might add to their discussion. 

Provide your initial post by 11:59 pm on Sunday. Your initial post should be at least 200 words, excluding the discussion prompt and the references. Please use in-text APA citations within your post as well as full APA references at the end of your post.
