Good evening class,

This is an interesting topic because I found both "speakers" interesting. However, it's even more interesting that we are writing on them teaching persuasion and also rating them on how well they are doing persuading us to listen to them teach how to persuade. Interestingly enough, I feel they are using some of the tactics that they teach in order to persuade us to listen to them. This was an actual comment from one of the viewers on you tube, "If you watched very closely Dr. Cialdini actually used some of the influence principles to influence you that his principles are valid haha." At any rate, I prefer Robert Cialdini and felt that he was more persuasive and easier to listen to. He uses a lot of facts and studies to back up his points and that is how I learn and respond, by listening to facts and figures. Additionally, he uses his principles that everyone can relate to, not just those in a business or organizational setting. Both are similar in that Pfeffer and Cialdini are both interesting to listen to and I feel they both genuinely care about making people better. Additionally, their principles are easy to remember and no matter what you may think of their videos initially, one finds themselves looking for persuasion in their day-to-day lives. However, Cialdini, I feel, uses rationale and research more that Pfeffer. People learn in different ways, so I appreciate both of their approaches to persuasion.
