Case Study Outline

Section 1: Introduction

I will analyze macroeconomic indicators of the state of Arizona. The main challenges affecting Arizona State include unemployment, closure of industries, shortcomings in basic infrastructure, low quality of education, and effects of 2008 recession. However, despite its economic challenges, Arizona has strong public-private partnerships which strengthen economic development, booming agriculture, establishment of big-ticket projects, and tourism. Studying macroeconomic indicators in Arizona is important to understand the functioning and performance of her economy.

Section 2: Macroeconomic Indicators

The five macro-economic indicators that I am going to use for ------------ state will include the following;

· Gross domestic product

· Unemployment rate

· Inflation

· Demand and disposable income

· Agriculture and education sector

Section 3: Data Collection and Analysis

Data: The time range will be from 2012 to 1018 and the data I will collect include;

· GDP of the State

· Data on education such as elementary, high school and college admission, rate of school drop outs and graduates

· Disposable income in the state

· Amount of arable land

I will source for economic data to address data collection and analysis from the following sites;

· Arizona Economic and Business Research Centre

· American Community Survey

· Economic Census

· Statistics from the Census Department

· Global financial database

· Global Insight

· National Longitudinal Surveys and

· Statista.

Analysis

I will conduct data analysis through economic analysis tools such as;

· Economic variables to determine the nature of the economy;

· Slope to determine changes in one variable when another variable changes;

· Optimization techniques to examine how different economic variables lead to increase or decrease of another; and

· Linear programming to evaluate how different variables can be maximized and/or minimized to improve economic conditions.
