In Chapter 5, you read about the historical development of education in our country. Within this broad topic, the issue of immigration has been an ongoing concern. Considering the past policies of assimilation and Americanization, as well as more current views on multiculturalism and bilingual eduction, discuss what your role as a classroom teacher will be when faced with immigration related issues among your students. In addition, specifically address how this role is effected if that child is here illegally.
