Discussion Thread: Assumptions, Limitations, Delimitations

Research assumptions, research limitations, and research delimitations are determined prior to conducting a research study. Many doctoral candidates confuse presumptions with assumptions. They also mistake research limitations for things a researcher can control.

  • Describe research assumptions and provide one example,
  • Describe research limitations, provide one example, and explain how the limitation in the example might be mitigated;
  • Describe research delimitations and provide one example.
  • Discuss how Biblical principles are related to reliability and validity.

DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
post one thread of ‘approximately’ 300 words. For each thread, you must support your
assertions with at least 3 peer-reviewed, scholarly citations (besides the possible use of the
course texts and the Bible) in current APA format. Each reply must incorporate at least 1 peer-
reviewed, scholarly citation (besides the possible use of the course texts and the Bible) in current
APA format. Any external sources cited must have been published within the last five years.
Acceptable sources include scholarly articles, the course textbooks, the Bible, etc.).
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

.,” or, “Your sources are awesome. . .” are not included in the word count and should be
omitted (cover and references are also not included in the word count). A key objective is

• Materials submitted to fulfill requirements in one course may not be submitted in another
course.

books other than the Bible, Yin, George et al., and Keller (if applicable).
• In-text citations are required to support your statements, points, assertions, issues,
arguments, concerns, paragraph topic sentences, and statements of fact and opinion.
• NOTE: In your reply post, when using/referring to a peer’s main thread, you must cite
them and include them in the Reference listing.
• Sources of information from Wikipedia, dictionaries, and encyclopedias will not be
accepted.
• All parts of the assignment must be based on scholarly, academic work.
• Avoid clichés, slang, jargon, exaggerations, abbreviations, figurative language, and
