LU07 Assignment: Facility Assignment

Directions:

1. Attend a sport event at your college or high school. Rather than experiencing the game soley as

a fan, pay attention to the different ways the athletic department is generating revenue through

the facility. Bring a notebook and record the various revenue sources. What types of ancillary

services are offered? Is corporate sponsorship or advertising present in the facility? Does the

public address mention athletic department sponsors during stoppages in play? Identify two

ways the facility could generate additional revenue for the athletic department.

2. While you’re at the game, also take note of what is being done to compete with the at-home

experience. What elements of the event cannot be replicated at home? How is the facility

incorporating technology into the fan experience?

3. Remember to include your last name in the file name and attach it to the LU7 Assignment

submission area in the learning unit.

4. This does not have to be written in an essay format.

5. The response is to be relatively free of distracting mechanical and grammatical errors.

6. The response must provide sufficient evidence and/or explanation.
