Assignment:Community-Based Programs and Resources for Victims
Battered women’s shelters and community abuse/crisis hotlines are two examples of community-based programs that have a long-standing existence. These programs tend to offer short-term services; are staffed by a combination of trained helping professionals and volunteers; operate on a budget dependent on a combination of grant, donation, and state funding; and have a mission of empowerment and resilience-focused support for their clients.
The Assignment (2–3 pages):
- Select and describe one community-based programs or resource available for victims in your area.
- Analyze the strengths and limitations of the chosen community-based program or resource.
- Be specific. Use specific examples from your research and the Resources.
Support your Application Assignment with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list only for those resources not included in the Resources for this course.
