This assignment will stand as your Unit 4 assessment grade (in lieu of a unit exam).  In at least 350 words, discuss the literary movement of Transcendentalism.  Include characteristics of the movement and give examples from the works of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman, and Henry David Thoreau.  You must give specific examples from the works assigned last week in class.
