Assignment 2

The Senate has proposed new legislation to strengthen our border security while making major changes to our nations immigration laws.  We have not seen changes like this since 9/11!  This week, please do the following:

1. Read the 17-page summary of the new legislation being considered in the Senate.  The bill is over 800 pages, so the summary will help narrow down the issues within the bill.

2. Find an interesting article in the news that discusses this new legislation. Provide a summary of the article and be sure to attach the article for your fellow students to read and comment.

3. Then provide your own thoughts and opinion regarding the new law. Do you feel these proposed changes will be more successful than harmful?  What strengths/weaknesses are contained in the bill?
