Assignment

 1. Summarize the Ancient era, with a time line. 

2. Discuss one or more outstanding events that sharped the culture of that era. For the second entry -- 

3. Define the dominant belief system of that era. 

4. Explain the motivation for the authors, in their works, to respond to events, beliefs, or their history in the ways they do. In the Ancient era, we may not have an author. For the third and final entry -- 

5. Finally, and most importantly, your interpretation, which includes your reaction to the era and one or two major works from the era, why these works are important in our understanding of human progress, and how these works have changed your perceptions of cultural differences over vast landscapes and time lines.
