 The organization and management of work in many factories and other workplaces went through substantial changes between 1890 and 1939.  Describe and analyze these changes in work management and the organization of work. What were the fundamental principles behind these changes?  How did they affect production?  What role did technology play in the reorganization of work?  How did these changes affect the American economy, overall?  Who benefits and who loses from their introduction?  What conditions promoted or limited their introduction?
