1) The author suggests that violence is like a disease and perhaps should be approached by society as are other diseases. What is the significance of this, and how do organizations like CeaseFire play a role in "curing" the disease of violence?

2) In your opinion, what is the best method(s) for reducing the violence and homicide rates in American cities? Would you recommend longer prison sentences, more police funding, and/or organizations like CeaseFire? What other outside-the-box approaches might also be helpful?
