Activity #5: Submission

Write a 4 page paper (1,000 words) in APA format (not including the cover page and reference page).  Below is a recommended outline. Please click here to view the criteria by which you will be assessed for the achievement of the CLO. 

You must conduct research in the LIRN. Find two peer reviewed journal articles that apply to the healthcare industry. You must have a total of three (3) scholarly references in your paper.

Read the case in Chapter 13 that begins on page 226 and ends on page 239. Respond to the prompts below based on your reading and the additional research you have done.

1.       Begin by assessing the internal working relationship in the organization. You do not have a lot of information, but some of the internal collaborations in the organization are apparent in the case.

2.       What are some disadvantages to developing strong relationships with members of the media? Do some media tend to sensationalize and focus on bad news? Should they be avoided?

3.       How can a health organization properly use the media to boost its reputation and performance?

4.       What are the consequences of avoiding media relations?

5.       How do health organizations reach individuals who do not use media? Are minority populations more likely to be missed in communications?
