In a 3-5 page paper, using terms and concepts from Chapters 1-4 in your textbook and other course material, describe a time in your life when you needed to forgive or be forgiven. Based on your reading in the textbook and content contained in the second week of class, which of the perspectives of forgiveness best characterize the way you felt about forgiveness? Explain why. What enabled or prevented forgiveness from happening? What did you or the other person do to try to facilitate forgiveness? Did a third party help? If so, what did this person do? If no attempts at forgiveness were made, why not (i.e., what were the barriers)?
