Second page:

Abstract*

This page stands alone. It is a concise summary of 150 to 300 words that highlights the major

points in your paper, explaining what the relevance of the research, how you did it (search words

must be included at the bottom), and what were the results.

*The abstract is not the “Introduction” of the paper. Also, consider that you do not have a PICO

question; therefore, you should not have a “problem statement.” The rubric in Moodle is a

broader version that could be applied to any paper and simplifies grading you work. Simply put,

it is for your benefit.

Third page and so forth:

The first paragraph should be the introduction to the paper. This portion is an overview on the

subject or theme of the paper. Is a background information. You may want to include statistics

here. Do not label the segment with the word “Introduction” at the top, just write the pargraph.

Reportable Sexually Transmitted Infections

Cover here the sexually transmitted infections that must be reported in the United States (US)

and in the state you leave in. You may want to include epidemiology and legal impact if failure to

report.

Diagnostics Tests

You may want to develop this section using subheadings (collection, transport, storage, time for

processing, most and least used, and expected findings) or may decide to divide the information

per specific disease, using it as a subheading. Whatever you decide to do, remember to use the

five-level hierarchical level system form APA style 7th ed.

Level 1: Centered, Boldface, Title Case Heading
