Article reading
Compose two (2) sentences from the Shepard, Part One reading, pgs. 1 - 5, in Scratch Beginnings.
- One sentence using a signal phrase. (Hint: a signal phrase introduces the speaker of the quote, and a quote ALWAYS needs a signal phrase so you know who is "talking". (But the speaker isn't necessarily the author.)
W - One sentence without a signal phrase. (Hint: you can't include a quote without a signal phrase, but ALL borrowed material needs a citation).
- Then cite the book as it would appear in an MLA 8th Works Cited list, along with ANY short story from the Abcarian textbook. (Hint: Works Cited is alphabetized by the author's last name.)
