• Analyzes your selected article for its appeals to either ethos, logos, or pathos.
• Organizes this analysis according to the MEAL Plan:      
  • Starts with a clearly stated main idea of your own about how the the author's appeal to ethos, logos, or pathos work.
  • Offers sufficient, relevant, and representative examples that illustrate your main idea.
  • Follows each of these examples with analysis of it to show your readers precisely how the example illustrates your main idea. Analysis breaks down each example to show how it works as you say it does.

If you have achieved these objectives, it's now time to...

1. revise your paragraph to ensure you are properly quoting the source, and
2. revise your ideas to make them flow coherently by applying the old/new contract.

For this step, do the following to help you effectively revise your paragraph for submission below:

1. Return to each of your quotations in your paragraph, and make sure they follow all the rules and conventions you read about in Step 1 above. Among other skills you find there, make sure you at least:  
   1. Frame the quotation
   2. Quote only the passages that matter rather than very long passages with inessentials included
