Argumentative Essay

 1. The text talks about the repeated use of African American patients for medical research without appropriate consent. The argument often made about this is that it was for the greater good and the case of Henrietta Lacks illustrates this. Her cells, taken without her consent, have led to incredible medical breakthroughs in a range of medical areas.

 Write a persuasive essay in which you argue that such use of patients and medical subjects is inappropriate despite the benefits it has brought about. Make use of the text as evidence to support your argument.
