Module Two Project Proposal Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Throughout the term, you will submit several assignments that will help you hone your writing and research as you work toward the final project that’s due in Module Seven. In this assignment, you will submit a proposal that introduces the topic you’d like to focus on and why your chosen historical topic should be the focus of an exhibit. The project proposal also provides a starting point for selecting your sources for the final project.
Directions
Review the Project Guidelines and Rubric linked in the Supporting Materials section below to gain an understanding of the requirements of the final project. Then choose a topic using the Project Resources also linked in the Supporting Materials section.
Note: If you choose a topic that is not listed in the Project Resources, you must get prior approval from your instructor. Use the Module Two Project Proposal Template linked in the What to Submit section below to address the criteria below and create your assignment.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
- Reason for Topic Choice: Explain why you chose this topic for your project.
- Reason for Audience Interest: Describe why an audience would be interested in the exhibit.
- Three Primary Sources: Provide a list of at least three primary sources related to your topic.
- Primary Sources’ Relation to Topic: Explain how each primary source relates to the historical topic.
What to Submit
Use the Module Two Project Proposal Template to create your assignment and submit it for grading. Your submission should be a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document with 12-point Times New Roman font, double spacing, and one-inch margins. Sources used should be cited according to APA style throughout the template.
Although Brightspace allows the addition of video notes in assignment submissions, you may not use the Video Note tool to complete this assignment.
Supporting Materials
The following resources support your work on this assignment:
Reading: Project Guidelines and Rubric Review the Project Guidelines and Rubric to understand the requirements for your project, which is due in Module Seven. Since this assignment builds toward that project, it is important to be clear on the expectations.
Reading: Project Resources This resource provides a list of topics to support you in completing this assignment.
Library Guide: Primary Source Databases The library guide gives a list of Shapiro Library databases to use in searching for artifacts.
