For this assignment, you will research the principles of the U.S. Constitution, collect and

summarize articles from newspapers, magazines and online sources

1. Popular Sovereignty/Republicanism

2. Federalism

3. Separation of Powers

4. Checks and Balance

5. Judicial Review

6. Limited government

Requirements: 1. Explain the Principles of the Constitution.

For each principle write a detailed paragraph that explains how

it operates theoretically and practically. Provide explanations

and examples as support.

2. Find two articles for each principle from current issues and

events taking place in political news.

Articles must be current (September and October)

3. Summarize and explain how it relates to one of the

principles of our Constitution identified.
