Archaic sapiens, Neandertals and the Last 10,000 Years

What physical and cultural adaptations allowed the genus Homo to migrate throughout the world? Did these adaptations help or harm Homo? 

Once Homo migrated, what happened to the different species within this genus? Why is there only one species that is in the Homo genus? What is the evidence to support your claim?
