1) Identify two variables (an independent and a dependent) that you plan to measure via questionnaires of your University.
2) Identify two plausible control variables that might also play a role in influencing your dependent variable.
3) Write down what you think would be appropriate survey questions to gain empirical indicators (i.e. participant responses) for each of these four variables.
4) Write down what you think would be appropriate response categories for each of these four questions.
5) Determine the level of measurement for each of your indicators (questions with response categories): are they nominal? ordinal? interval? ratio?
6) Discuss issues of validity and reliability for each of your four measures.
