In this assignment of 3000 words students are required to design either (1) a semi-structured interview protocol, or (2) a series of questionnaire measures (questions or items depending on the design)
In both of these tasks the following information should be provided: (1) An introduction explaining what you intend to design and its significance for ministry studies. (2) The nature of either method of investigation (depending on what you have chosen) and its strengths and weakness as a method. (3) An explanation as to why this is an appropriate research method given the nature of your proposed (or hypothetical) research project. (4) A statement as to the topic that you intend to investigate using this method. (5) A discussion of the subject theory (not method theory) that informs the questions that you are asking and why these questions will extend the boundary of knowledge on the subject. (6) Either an interview protocol containing 15-20 questions; or a questionnaire measure containing 15-20 items (there is no need for background type questions, e.g. gender, age, etc.) (7) An explanation as to why you have designed the questions or items in the way that you have. A conclusion explaining how you have benefited from the exercise and how it has extended your knowledge of the subject and the empirical method.
